Neutron stars are one of the most extreme and violent things in the universe. Giant atomic nuclei, only a few kilometers in diameter but as massive as stars. And they owe their existence to the death of something majestic.

Yogg I may have my information mixed up here, but when the universe first started, stars were both born quickly and died quickly due to the universe being much more hot from the Big Bang. So, it didn’t take stars nearly as long to die when the universe was first created.

What happens if we take uranium with aunt ablution?

      3. Mr Aidan

You guys made it in FIsels Rewind 2019 5:43 congrats.

      4. Brad Cannata

What are the chances we could exhaust smaller stars to the point of creating Kilonovas to create personal galaxies? Or maybe another planet that could sustain life? Plant it like tree lol?

        What about The U.K?

This is literally why I'm an astrophysics major.... Thank you for never ceasing to blow my mind!

    15. Johnathan Chrabot

some stars has to die twice to become a singularity

    16. Tom Walker

Amazing work - love Kurzgesagt and love neutron stars! Perfect combo!

    17. Riley Smrt

      Chrystal Lettuce

    18. Grae Hall

anyone remember before the 2010s, when we could only dream of having this sort of high quality science content at our fingertips? Fascinating and beautifully presented.

    19. Anders Termansen

Can we talk about how Kurzgesagt already have one video about neutron stars but still made a second one?

    20. Lorenzo Passero

The sad time you discover you pronounce nuclei the wrong way. I used to say nucl-eh-ee or nucl-ee. Yeee

    21. AKS

      8:05 - 8:15 ... FUCK YOU!!!

    22. Syber-VHS

''Stars Die Twice'' is a nice name for a sci-fi novel

    23. Mr. Midnight

I wonder how powerful Aurelion Sol is.

    24. Ian Hornbuckle

How do they know these things?... like how do they know what happens to these stars at a molecular level

    25. Darker Souls

I saw sailor moon, i liek

    26. MartinGTX

      Another wow

    27. thirsty boi

I got emotional watching this for some reason.

    29. Le Quasar

5:20.... Sailor moon... Not sailor neutron star.

    30. Le Quasar

2:35 this when gold is made..

    31. Julian Lippert

How do neutron stars die, if they don‘t collide with another neutron stars, will they just burn out and evaporate over billions of years or will they collapse into a black hole after a while ?

    32. Максим Соколов

Aren't gold and other heavy elements created in supernovas? Because of this fast falling of outer layers on the core and bouncing back creates more extreme conditions than in the iron core.

    33. Agt Fedrik

4:32 what if pasa was created in order to have access to the strongest material in the universe?

    34. Максим Соколов

I have some questions. For example, is the matter in a neutron star stable under normal conditions? Or it requires huge pressure and nuclear matter decays into neutrons, which create protons and electrons and finally form usual matter?

    35. catherine sucher

Now how the fuck do you know this.

    36. King oof da great

Pasta pasta pasta nuclear pasta get out of here boi

    37. Ольга Чернова

      Это же бедрок

    38. Andrew Simmonds

"What happens now is awesome and scary - space pasta"

    39. Imaru Lewis

No matter how much humans fuck with planet earth, the natural balance of space can never be touched and I think thats the most beautiful thing imaginable

    40. Reggie

No one knows for sure, and that's why we do science. So simple yet so true
